’Tis the season to shed some layers. The temps in Oakland are creeping up and the spring vibes have definitely arrived, which means you can finally leave your just-in-case jacket at home and show a little more skin than usual.
Today, I opted for a slouchy, minimal outfit that gave equal doses of cozy and polished.
My top is a baby pink vintage short-sleeve cable-knit button-up sweater. The knit is lightweight enough to keep you from overheating, and the short sleeves make it the perfect springtime closet grab. The buttons also make it office-appropriate—a top-tier pick from my pile of sweaters.
Since the top is slightly snug, I went with a baggier jean to play with proportions. I thrifted these Tommy Hilfiger jeans at a thrift market in Dallas. The slight distressing at the raw hem adds just the right detail to make them feel unique.
And of course, I had to finish the look with my platform Doc Martens. Anytime I want to add a little edge to an outfit, they’re the first pair I reach for. Plus, they perfectly offset the slightly long hem on these jeans.
